The idea of designing a coffin based on the shape of a seed pod with its natural organic form was a starting point.The concept of a seed being planted in the earth.
The process of regeneration and new life.
The idea of using recycled paper that would otherwise be discarded.
The joy of using a coloured paper, overlaid on top of a beautiful shape - a shape that is modern and yet which echoes back to Ancient Egypt.
The understanding that many of us want more involvement at the funeral by carrying the Ecopod at the ceremony.
All these elements were the inspiration for the Ecopod.
